SO...WHAT IS CASA ESPAÑOL?
Casa Español is a home-based Spanish immersion program for children ages 5 to 9.
It was created to give children the opportunity to experience Spanish the way they naturally acquired their first language—through clear, consistent immersion in a trusting environment.
Everything we do begins with beautiful, carefully curated Spanish children's literature. Every story is brought to life through conversation, games, music, movement, and lots of opportunities to hear and use Spanish in meaningful ways.
Our classes are intentionally kept small, with a maximum of eight students, so every child gets the attention they deserve. We meet twice each week because consistent exposure is one of the most important parts of learning a new language. Children don't just hear Spanish once a week and hope it sticks. They get to come back, hear it again, build on what they learned, and watch it become familiar.
I actually started writing this program when my own children were little.
One day I realized that every part of their world—school, television, books, games, friends—immersed them in English. Spanish, the language both of their parents were born into, had slowly become something they only heard every now and then at home.
I wanted something different for them.
I wanted them to be able to walk into abuelita's house and simply talk to her while they still have the gift of being able to do so.
That became the heart behind Casa Español.
I wanted my kids to start living en Español.
Turns out babies had it right all along.
Think about how your child learned English.
Nobody handed them a stack of flashcards and asked them to memorize vocabulary. They learned because they lived in their language. They heard it every day from the people around them. They watched television in English. They listened to stories. They asked questions. They heard the same words over and over until those words simply became part of their world.
That's exactly the approach we take at Casa Español.
Every class combines beautiful Spanish children's literature, conversation, repetition, games, music, and movement to create an environment where children hear Spanish used naturally and consistently.
Every lesson is intentionally planned using research on how children acquire a second language. There's a purpose behind every story we read, every game we play, and every activity we repeat.
We're not trying to teach children about Spanish.
We're helping them begin experiencing it.
WHY THIS WORKS
Casa Español was intentionally designed as a twice-weekly immersion program.
Learning a language isn't about cramming information into one afternoon each week. Consistent exposure is what allows children to recognize patterns, remember vocabulary naturally, and build confidence over time. That's why I recommend attending both class days whenever possible.
I also know every family's schedule looks a little different.
For that reason, once our two-day enrollment is established, we'll open a limited number of one-day enrollment spots for families who would still love to be part of Casa Español.

Hi. 😊 I'm Profe Irene.
I'm a proud Mexican native, longtime homeschooling mom, and the founder of Casa Español.
I love the Spanish language. I love my Mexican culture. And I absolutely love watching children discover something new for the first time.
Creating Casa Español gave me the opportunity to bring all of those things together.
It means a lot to me that our beautiful language doesn't slowly disappear beneath the constant stream of English media children hear every day. Instead, I want Spanish to become something they genuinely look forward to hearing.
Beautiful children's literature exists in every language, and it's one of my greatest joys to introduce some of my favorite Spanish stories to both my own children and yours.
I hope Casa Español becomes a place where your child doesn't just learn Spanish.
I hope it becomes a place where Spanish simply becomes part of childhood.
I can't wait to welcome your family.
